First, decide on what look you want. You can go all out and get a die-cut business card design, but then again, that would cost a wee bit extra. So stick with the standard business card size. Are you going for bold? Are you going for elegant and classy? Are you going for the serious, we-mean-strict-business style?
Next, decide on what kind of paper, which will suit the cards’ look. The thicker the paper, the more expensive it is. If you also want scented paper, it is more expensive than the plain ones. So choose the most simple yet durable paper there is to save on costs.

Then, decide on what kind of font and color you want. Today’s technology allows us to use practically any font we want. However, keep in mind that if you want your fond embossed, this would cost a bit extra. So try to choose a font according to your look, but do not have it embossed. Also, though you may get away with more colors, keep in mind that the more colorful you want your business card, the more expensive your business cards will be.
